Not at all! We welcome players of all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned athletes. Our coaches and teammates will help you learn the game and build your confidence on the pitch.

For your first practices, all you need are athletic clothes, cleats (if you have them), and a good attitude. As you progress, you’ll want a mouthguard and eventually some Surge apparel, which we’ll help you get.

We train twice a week, typically Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM, hosted at 2926 Wilkinson Rd, Sarasota, FL 34231. Check our events page for the most up-to-date schedule.

Absolutely! We encourage you to come check out a practice or game, meet the team, and get a feel for the Surge family. Bring a friend, hang out, and see if rugby is right for you.
