From locating, planning, and constructing our own purpose-built rugby field, to undertaking charitable endeavors in the community, Sarasota Rugby Club is intent on developing both the club as a whole and the community in which we find ourselves.

Field Development

After planning and funding were finally concluded, work began building our home on University Parkway in 2015. Straddling the border of Bradenton, Sarasota, and Lakewood Ranch, our field is unique in that it has been developed solely for the use of rugby.

We share the land with a local cricket club and enjoy a good working relationship with our neighbors. Our changing facilities and clubhouse include full plumbing and electrics, allowing our players, coaches and supporters a comfortable experience.

Much work was done by club members and their associates, and is something we are eager to continue to improve as we grow our community.

Growing our Youth Academy

After developing our field and home facilities, Sarasota Surge has since embarked upon a mission to develop talent from within.

Regular coaching clinics, the continued effort to certify current senior players as legitimate coaches, and a clear pathway from youth rugby into the men's team are but several tactics employed by the club in order to ensure we are able to develop talent from a young age.

Multiple first team players have made the step up from our youth program - a proud achievement for all associated with the club.
